I live in Maplewood, New Jersey with my wife Tricia and our two children.
To use the parlance of one of my current favorite writers, Joseph Campbell, my personal life consists of an almost manic pursuit of my bliss. I am writing a book, I have cartooned for papers, performed stand-up comedy, written and produced a sketch comedy podcast, learned to kick a black belt in the head, rock-climbed, biked from Connecticut to Quebec, and backwoods camped in British Columbia. However, raising kids is turning out to be the true realization of that bliss.
Here are some links that may give you a better idea of who I am…
- My fiction book “Hell Is Above Us: The Epic Race to the Top of Fumu, the World’s Tallest Mountain.” I am writing it as if I were a British academic from the 1950’s named Kenneth Tersely. And here is a short video of the reading at “The Home Of…” in Brooklyn, NY on June 18, 2011.
- Karate! This is me moments before getting my green belt. I’m the tall bald guy. Two years later, I now have a brown belt.
- My personal blog: The Half-Wit Symposium.
- I also have done my share of stand-up comedy. Fortunately, no one ever recorded it.
- My wife works at The Brooklyn Museum, a great institution.
